The mental, physical, social and developmental benefits of learning in nature are well-researched. Aurora Alternative is excited to announce a closer working relationship with Toronto Nature School.

Our mission is to connect children with the beautiful outdoors. Excursions are based in the heart of the Beach neighbourhood in Toronto, we have the wonderful benefit of being able to use both the waterfront and Glen Stewart Ravine as our living and learning classroom. Toronto Nature School is based on the Forest School movement, which is based on the Scandinavian education system where students are brought outside to learn, explore and work together. We will explore how the different seasons affect the nature and wildlife around us and invite to connect to the land. We have enjoyed many days in the ravine, listening to the owls, feeding the chickadees and lounging in hammocks listening to the wind.
